Hello All!
My name is Tim and I'm the Sr Technical Project Manager at a credit union in New England. When I grow up, I'd like to be a pilot (assuming I'm still "growing up"). Some of my favorite tools and techniques are all release/deployment planning activities, and leveraging the Atlassian product suite to assist. I was drawn into Project Management as a stepping stone to a career in IT Management (before becoming a pilot, that is). My greatest accomplishment as been teaching my dog to "leave it" when a baby bunny or squirrel finds it's way into her mouth.

Looking forward to getting involved and learning more!

Welcome to PMI's online community, Tim! I am all too familiar with the "leave it" battle with my own dog :) .

Thanks for joining us, and I look forward to seeing you around the community!

Hi Everyone,
My Name is Nadine and I received my PMP this year (2024) in August. I am working in construction company as a project manager.
When I was growing up, I wanted to be a great civil engineer, I had a clear picture of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was more of a dreamer, fascinated by engineering and the idea of making a real impact on the world
Now, I still like to design but I also realized I am great at PM and seeing the completion of a project that I worked on is also satisfying.
I don't really have a fav. pm tool as each company I worked for had their own way of working.
Actually, I fell into this role, my last position was to construct stadium which needed people who would think out of the box, create processes, collaborate, etc. in order for it to be successful.
Obtaining my masters degree in project management and planning and PMP honestly and showing me that I can actually do this!
Hi Nadine, congratulations on earning your PMP!

Welcome's to PMI's online community; we're glad to have you here.

Jean Moise Ndoh Abah Head of Projects Execution France| ENERTRAG Paris, France

Hello everyone,
my name is Jean Moïse NDOH, and I currently serve as a Projects Execution Manager in Renewable Energies at ENERTRAG France.

Growing up, I was always fascinated by the intersection of technology and innovation, which initially drew me towards a career in engineering.
My journey evolved over time as I discovered a passion for leadership and project management, ultimately guiding me to where I am today.

I have extensive experience with a range of project management tools, including Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Agile methodologies, which have been instrumental in my work across various industries.
I'm particularly interested in exploring more advanced AI-driven project management tools and learning how they can further enhance efficiency and decision-making in complex projects.

My interest in project management was sparked by the desire to lead large-scale, impactful projects that require not only technical expertise but also a strategic vision and the ability to navigate cultural and organizational complexities.
What has kept me in this industry is the dynamic nature of the work—every project presents new challenges and opportunities for innovation.
The chance to mentor others and drive organizational change also continuously fuels my passion.

One of my proudest professional accomplishments is my role in successfully leading a major renewable energy project at ENERTRAG France, which not only met all its deliverables on time and within budget but also set new benchmarks for sustainability and community engagement.
On a personal level, my ongoing commitment to mentoring young professionals and entrepreneurs has been deeply rewarding, knowing that I am contributing to the growth and success of the next generation of leaders.

Christopher Henry Assistant Engineer| Oneida County NY, United States

Hi everyone,

My name is Chris Henry, and I currently work for a county government in Upstate New York. For those unfamiliar, Upstate NY encompasses everything west and north of New York City. Growing up, I didn’t have a clear vision of my future career, but I was always fascinated by a variety of things, especially playing with Legos. I loved the design, the building process, and creating my own little worlds.

Raised in rural Pennsylvania with minimal career guidance, I ended up majoring in psychology with a business minor in college. An internship in human resources at a golf course led me to meet a Landscape Architect. Inspired by our conversation, I decided to pursue a Master’s in Landscape Architecture, despite not having taken an art class since 8th grade. I even drove three hours to meet with the LA department on a sweltering summer day, dressed in a three-piece suit. Years later, that professor told me it wasn’t my application or portfolio that got me into the program, but my determination and willingness to make the journey in person. The rest, as they say, is history.

After graduating during an economic downturn, I worked in natural gas and forestry supply before starting my own business. This eventually led me to a role with local government, where I’ve been involved in a $500 million hospital build, a $50 million parking garage, and upgrades to a nearby hockey arena. This project is a highlight of my career, combining all the skills I developed through my education and experience. It was crucial to engage with various stakeholders, including private, local, state, and federal officials, to make it a reality.

The most compelling aspect of project management for me is handling different personalities to achieve a common goal. I enjoy problem-solving and scheduling during the planning phase, which is why I use Microsoft Project. Since joining Oneida County, I’ve transitioned from a planner to an engineer, which has been a significant shift from conceptualizing to implementing. To navigate this change, I’ve been using AI to help draft project construction schedules. Although I’ve managed projects for a decade, I’m eager to formalize my training and deepen my understanding of the PM lifecycle to enhance my new role and broaden my professional versatility.

Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Hi everyone! My name is Matt and I have worked in the golf industry for the 28 years, the last 12 as a General Manager of a golf and curling club. I joined PMI to see if I could acquire a PMP certification. I don't have a 4-year degree, but I do have 2-year Business Diploma and a 1-year Business Certificate. Do you all think my 12 years as General Manager would satisfy the other requirements to take the PMP certification exam?
