Kate, glad to see you here.
My top 3 project management challenges at the moment are industry specific related to Construction:
1) Finding Skilled Trades - There is a significant shortage of skilled trades.
2) Doing precise estimates given the high level of uncertainlty in todays world.
3) Maintaining accurate schedules given the significant supply chain issues that still exist.
Things imporved in 2023 but not enough so I am hoping to see those challenges starting to ease more in 2024.
The top three skills that I am aiming to develop in the coming year are Interpersonal soft skills:
1) Emotional Intelligence
2) Active Listening
3) Public Speaking
Cheers!

I can't think of any examples of "precise estimates given the high level of uncertainty." It is a major source of pain, though. What are some other kinds of work where uncertainty is high? Finance, maybe? Insurance? Maybe we can learn from them.

Client delays - a client that can't get their own act together to meet their own responsibilities 3.) A corporation that doesn't pay it's people what they are worth, and so there is a lack of desire to exceed - this impacts overall performance
