Hi Claudia,

We use a lightweight internal checklist to assess Gen AI readiness across three dimensions:

Data governance – ensuring data used for prompts or fine-tuning is compliant, secure, and ethically sourced.
Use case clarity – validating that the Gen AI application solves a real business problem (e.g. summarising incidents, automating stakeholder updates).
Human-in-the-loop protocols – confirming that outputs are reviewed before decisions are made, especially in production environments.

We have integrated a private LLM, but we have not established specific checklists or protocols yet. We are looking at using the LLM for Quality Assurance testing to verify device settings.

Hi Claudia, thank you. As a mater of fact, I did a post last week on my LinkedIn as to how we can utilize AI in the construction industry because AI can add lots of value if properly utilized on Construction Projects. Some of those benefits include:

1) Predictive Analytics: Using AI algorithms to forecast timelines, material requirements, and potential risks, optimizing planning and scheduling.

2) Computer Vision and Drones: AI-powered drones equipped with cameras to monitor construction sites, track progress, and identify safety hazards.

3) Generative Design: Create and optimize designs based on project requirements, site conditions, and material constraints, enhancing efficiency and reducing waste.

4) Quality Control: AI-powered systems to inspect materials, identify defects, and ensure compliance with building codes and standards.

5) Autonomous Equipment: Integrating AI into construction machinery for autonomous operation, improving efficiency and safety on site.

6) Supply Chain Management: Using AI to optimize supply chain logistics, predicting material needs, and streamlining procurement processes.

7) Smart Project Management: Leveraging AI-driven platforms for better project management, collaboration, and decision-making driven by data insights.
I tried to develop an AI approach several years ago in my organization but got severe resistance to change. The idea of lessons learned and helping to identify risks early on in construction projects would be priceless. All of the above…quality, schedule, budget etc…

HI Claudia,

The points given by Marcus and Zohaib are relevant and are structured. This will be helpful to implement the AI. These gents have touched upon many aspects like the ethical approach, they are bringing in the acceptance at the client place by training, He has also emphasized upon another important aspect "policies" which is necessary to be in place if it is not yet there at the client place, Structured approach, start with pilot implementation.

With these points I am sure you will be able to move forward with the Gen-AI implementation.

We can connect to review the approach that you have come up for your client.

Best

Hello Rami, your approach as a consultant could provide us with great cases to build upon a standardized approach to Gen AI data readiness. Although not into this topic yet, if some ideas come to your mind where you think Gen AI could play a role in your profession, please share. :-)
Hi Claudia, I'm thinking of using Gen AI in the product lire assessment I'm preparing. So any help is much appreciated

We are not currently using any Generative AI, but I'm hoping that will change in the near future.

Dear Claudia

Here's a checklist to help guide the integration of AI successfully:

Define Clear Objectives:

Clearly outline the objectives you want to achieve with AI integration.
Align AI goals with overall business and project objectives.
Understand Stakeholder Needs:

Identify and involve key stakeholders in the AI integration process.
Understand their needs, concerns, and expectations related to AI.
Assess Readiness and Capacity:

Evaluate the organization's readiness for AI adoption.
Assess the available technical infrastructure and the capacity for handling AI technologies.
Data Governance and Quality:

Establish robust data governance policies.
Ensure data quality and integrity for accurate AI model training.
Security and Compliance:

Address security concerns related to AI systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Talent Acquisition and Training:

Identify the need for new skills and talents.
Invest in training programs for existing staff to adapt to AI technologies.
Start with a Pilot Project:

Initiate AI integration with a small, manageable pilot project.
Use the pilot project to identify challenges and refine the integration strategy.
Choose Appropriate AI Models:

Select AI models that align with project goals.
Consider factors such as machine learning algorithms, deep learning, or natural language processing based on project requirements.
Ethical Considerations:

Establish ethical guidelines for AI use.
Address biases and fairness concerns in AI algorithms.
Monitoring and Evaluation:

Implement robust monitoring mechanisms for AI performance.
Regularly evaluate the impact of AI on project objectives.
User Training and Acceptance:

Provide adequate training to end-users interacting with AI systems.
Foster a culture of acceptance and collaboration between AI and human teams.
Scalability and Future Planning:

Design AI integration with scalability in mind.
Develop a roadmap for future AI enhancements and technologies.
Continuous Improvement:

Regularly update AI models to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Stay informed about advancements in AI technologies.
Communication Plan:

Develop a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed.
Clearly communicate the benefits and impacts of AI integration.
Contingency Planning:

Develop contingency plans for potential AI failures or issues.
Establish protocols for addressing unexpected challenges.

I really appreciate you sharing your list. It seems very thorough and well thought out.

One point you made was "Implement robust monitoring mechanisms for AI performance. Regularly evaluate the impact of AI on project objectives. User Training and Acceptance."

What monitoring tools do you have in place to aid in ensuring AI is performing at its peak?

I would say we are not fully into Generative AI deeply but we recently developed the use of robotics in our mechanical and HVAC warehouse in keeping, tracking of stock for proper inventory management.
The other approaches which we are projecting for early Jan 2026 is the replacement of our estimation software with a more faster, reliable and advanced type that enhances our quotation data and mechanical shop drawings as required, working as a Project Specialist-Manager. We are currently at the testing and running stage and redevelopment stage with the Teams.
