In our company we are getting started in the use of AI, so far we have made a lot of progress with simple tools like Power BI, but we have quickly understood the importance of using data with relevance, but significant. Basically we focus on: defining the objectives to be achieved, having a clear relationship of stakeholders, using the previous methods of schedule and budget evaluation, methods used to identify, evaluate and respond to risks,

In order to better harness the new AI technology it will be important to first establish the objectives for the new tool set.

As a solo practitioner, I use AI to assist in shaping, articulating, and launching programs and services. I also find it helpful in applying my patented ideation method to drive innovation. For project management, risk assessment and mitigation benefit from exploring different solution an uncovering what you don't know.

I don't have a clear cut answer to your question, Claudia. However, I believe it's going to be tough to incorporate AI quickly and it will find resistance in the beginning just like Agile and Agility did but sooner or later it will find its way everywhere.

PMI did two good actionable approaches by creating the PMI AI Assistant and releasing the GenAI Course.

I'd be interested to see what other members of this community have to say about this.
Good evening, I have been Project Manager for 20 years, it is exciting to see how project management has evolved over this time, in particular I think that AI is revolutionizing for the better the speed of obtaining documentation and analysis for our projects, I do not have much experience in data management. but I am trying to use the PMI AI assistant and using GTP chat, entering the data I have from my collection of previous lessons learned, trying to improve it little by little, I am quickly noticing the great support it means, we have to lose the fear of change and innovation; Thank you PMI for providing us access to the GENAI course

Hi,
Developing checklists and protocols are the necessary first step to integrate the GenAI in the existing project management procedures. This development process shall involve all stakeholders.

Claudia, this is a great question. However, given the nature of what we do as consultants, we haven't yet started preparing for this but would be very interested to see what other professionals and organizations are doing!

My personal opinion is this is a journey. First off each project manger will need to be trained to understand the value Gen AI can bring to their world. This will allow leveraging GenAI at individual PM level. Along side, as the decision makers become more aware of the advantages of GenAI and we learn from other organizations and their journey, the understanding of the benefits of this tool will increase and so will the openess to incorporating GenAI.

Thanks Claudia for initiating this discussion.

It is really informative after going through the Gen AI course offered by PMI.
