Are you utilizing any specific checklists or protocols within your projects or company to assess your readiness for working with Generative AI data? I'm curious to know what strategies or tools you've implemented to prepare for integrating Gen AI into your workflows. Please share your approaches in the comments below!

I don't have a clear cut answer to your question, Claudia. However, I believe it's going to be tough to incorporate AI quickly and it will find resistance in the beginning just like Agile and Agility did but sooner or later it will find its way everywhere.

PMI did two good actionable approaches by creating the PMI AI Assistant and releasing the GenAI Course.

I'd be interested to see what other members of this community have to say about this.
Thanks for the AI Training modules, these are a great starting point for PMs.

As a novice to Generative AI but with decades of experience in construction project management, my first question is 'what aspects of our traditional workflows will benefit from this tool? There are aspects of our workflows that require suitable experience for beneficial outcomes such as dealing with contractual claims. There are other workflow areas like taking down meeting minutes that require basic technical writing.
Inculcating a Generative AI culture in a company may best be done by identifying workflow areas that are easily carried out by all levels on the project/company.

Claudia,
As the Owners' Representative on many large public infrastructure projects in British Columbia, Canada, it is largely my responsibility to raise the bar and set the terms and conditions or Statement of Requirements in our Procurement initiatives (RFQ and RFP) prior to Design and Construction. I have a number of IT related graduate degrees and have always tried to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to implementing new Project Controls and Project Management software. Generative AI is definitely the next step in the area of BIM modelling and many other Project Management software applications and the opportunities in all areas is mind boggling. I'm endeavoring to learn as much as I can about Generative AI applications in order to raise the bar and set the standards for others to learn and follow. We are very much in the infancy stages of Gen AI applications but through wonderful forums such as PMI and others we will learn and apply very quickly. The key will be proactive leadership and the ability to share Gen AI across all disciplines associated with project management. In my case, horizontal, vertical, and information technology related initiatives applying predictive and adaptive applications. All disciplines need to better understand how to effectively apply Gen AI within their areas of expertise. Exciting times.

The list for deployment of GenAI is very comprehensive and a great place to start.

Having read many of the responses on this thread in summary many of us continue to learn and build our knowledge and understanding of effective GenAI applications:

One that comes to mind is Quantity Surveying.

Applying meta data related information to all aspects of supply chain - materials, costing, availability of trades and materials, regional impacts, etc to your budgets and financial reporting models in real time.

Another is Procurement - Financial Modelling. Running various financial scenarios such as Monte Carlo to provide the most practical procurement methodology for your project.

The list will continue to grow!!

This is a great discussion thread, thank you.
I'm leading the PMO at our biotech company and we are just starting to look at implementing GenAI in some small ways. I appreciate the checklists, as it can be challenging to move forward with new ways of doing things.

Great points' concepts can be used in any industry. We have used Gen AI to support any Breakdown in IT Infra, by referring all RCA' s captured in last twenty years as Service provider for Data Center.
