Hi Claudia, thank you. As a mater of fact, I did a post last week on my LinkedIn as to how we can utilize AI in the construction industry because AI can add lots of value if properly utilized on Construction Projects. Some of those benefits include:

1) Predictive Analytics: Using AI algorithms to forecast timelines, material requirements, and potential risks, optimizing planning and scheduling.

2) Computer Vision and Drones: AI-powered drones equipped with cameras to monitor construction sites, track progress, and identify safety hazards.

3) Generative Design: Create and optimize designs based on project requirements, site conditions, and material constraints, enhancing efficiency and reducing waste.

4) Quality Control: AI-powered systems to inspect materials, identify defects, and ensure compliance with building codes and standards.

5) Autonomous Equipment: Integrating AI into construction machinery for autonomous operation, improving efficiency and safety on site.

6) Supply Chain Management: Using AI to optimize supply chain logistics, predicting material needs, and streamlining procurement processes.

7) Smart Project Management: Leveraging AI-driven platforms for better project management, collaboration, and decision-making driven by data insights.
Rami's approach is very interesting, regarding the areas in which AI can help in the construction industry.
I am no longer involved in construction, I participate in the development of projects in the mining industry, in the past I was Construction Manager of many small and medium-sized projects in this industry.
Based on my experience in this area, I have some comments on this matter.
For example, as he thinks, I believe that time must still pass to obtain results and we will surely also have lessons learned regarding the use of AI in this industry.

There are cases in which it can be very helpful and very practical, such as the use of drones to film the progress of works and for AI to analyze the progress, I agree with this, for a general view of the progress, when progress is made in this sense it will even serve to prepare the payments for the project valuations.

However, to apply statistics on what has happened in other projects, a lot of information is required, and above all, the application of similarity of factors, in order to have valid projections that can be applied to budgets, schedules, security, etc. In this sense, I believe that AI will help, but the Project Managers' own evaluation will be very necessary to use these statistics, since there are many human factors that introduce these variations and it will be much more difficult for AI to offer experiences that are truly valid.

Unfortunately in my case we are still not prepare to face this from an organised / structured perspective. There is reluctance to accept AI because of data security reasons and eventual ciber attacks.

Do to the nature of my company's work they have not started using AI, I a hoping that my training from this course can be helpful in bringing AI into the workplace

We have not done this yet but due to the importance of data consistency we will put a plan in place

Hello Claudia,
very interesting topic in did.
We in the field of IT projects, trying to adapt to the new data and trends of the time me and my team use LLMs like ChatGpt , Copilot, Gemini, Claude ai in order to process the transcripts from our meetings and quickly come up with a blueprint, moms or even a status report. We are very new to this and we are always experimenting of course checking the results and adapting them to our own data.

For implementation starts slow, we incorporated intake forms and created automated flows to handle for annoying day to day actives such as reminders and small announcements. This helps get people used to the process.

We have been focused on a system conversion. Due to being a small shop, when and if we move toward AI, it will be on the financial side and not the project side. However, I am very interested in using AI for lessons learned and exploring other options.
I agree that implementing AI tools like ChatGPT can significantly enhance our works as project managers. By leveraging AI for tasks such as data analysis, communication, and task automation, we can improve efficiency and focus on strategic decision-making. This aligns with our objectives of increasing productivity, fostering collaboration, and ultimately delivering better outcomes for our projects. Embracing AI can also help us stay competitive and responsive to changing project demands.

The valuable input of Markus, Rami, and Zohaib deserves appreciation. Although each listed different paths of integration, all focus on process improvement and initiative implementation, resonates well and will undoubtedly enhance our efficiency. Excellent insight!
