I don't have a clear cut answer to your question, Claudia. However, I believe it's going to be tough to incorporate AI quickly and it will find resistance in the beginning just like Agile and Agility did but sooner or later it will find its way everywhere.

PMI did two good actionable approaches by creating the PMI AI Assistant and releasing the GenAI Course.

I'd be interested to see what other members of this community have to say about this.
I agree with others that the PMI AI course is a great start that I know will benefit our project team members. We are overall approaching carefully on the project side as security of proprietary data critical for our customers.

Project management is relatively young in Africa. Introcing Gen AI makes it even more novel. Foundationally, organizations in Africa require policies to ensure the proper implementation of standard project management methodologies and processes before considering leveraging Gen AI. One can also argue that the immersion of Gen AI can be the best opportunity to establish standards for project management in most organizations, but that is a conversation for another day. When it comes to the few who already have existing systems and structures to support project management, the first step is to;

1. Perform a comprehensive needs assessment to measure the readiness of the organization systemically, financially, and culturally to integrate AI.
2. Develop policies for AI utilization.
3. Train and build capacity.
4. Perform maturity accessment and regular performance management for the purposes of adjustment and implementing neccessary controls.

I am sure there are more steps within these steps and can be elaborated when there is an opportunity for deeper conversation.

Hello Rami, your approach as a consultant could provide us with great cases to build upon a standardized approach to Gen AI data readiness. Although not into this topic yet, if some ideas come to your mind where you think Gen AI could play a role in your profession, please share. :-)
Indeed, GenAI is critical in data generalisation and integration to inform decision-making and predictive capability

We have not integrated with AI. I am just learning.

1- Define the goals for using AI in project management
2- Team Building - Stakeholders
3- Document existing project management workflows. Identify pain points, inefficiencies, and areas where AI can provide value.
4- Understanding the data
5- Initiating a pilot usage
6- Customize and monitor
7- Continuous improvement
8- Expansion of AI integration to our aspects of project

Thanks for your thoughtful enquiry, Clauda.
The use of Gen AI is evolving in my part of the world and really has not been a tool embedded in the business processes. But I see a lot of opportunities because the data to use are actually available out there and it will be a quick process to get this going.

Of course, policies of respective organization especially in justifying going that route will be a fundamental subject to deal with. I believe however, that as the AI space becomes more embraced across different organizational units, the deployment of the Gen AI will indeed happen in a "flash".

Thanks again, for the good work.
