Are you utilizing any specific checklists or protocols within your projects or company to assess your readiness for working with Generative AI data? I'm curious to know what strategies or tools you've implemented to prepare for integrating Gen AI into your workflows. Please share your approaches in the comments below!

I recently offered a presentation on the use of AI for project managers in healthcare. This presentation focused on how to start with some basic tools that most organizations probably already have available and grow in the use of AI tools. The most important aspect of this process is to have some sort of an AI policy/procedure in place so you don't inadvertently create problems for yourself or your organization as you learn and grow the use of AI.

Yes, I utilize AI for research historical data and suggestions for enhancements for various projects. It has proven to be a timesaver and expansion of knowledge.

I cannot comment on the approach yet as we still evaluate use of AI but we do seeit being implemented in some areas. There is an emphasis on utilization Gen AI gradually. My thoughts would be as follows : Consider and establish Ethical Guidelines by implementing a checklist to evaluate the ethical implications of using Generative AI, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and avoiding IP issues.

Data Readiness Assessment: A protocol can be put in place to assess the quality, diversity, and security of datasets used for training and implementing Generative AI tools.

Tool Evaluation and Integration: Create and maintain a checklist for evaluating the suitability of Gen AI tools, including scalability, compatibility with existing systems, and user accessibility.

Internal Training and Awareness: A key part of readiness involves training team members on the capabilities and limitations of Generative AI, including ethical considerations and best practices for effective use.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: We develop a framework to identify potential risks (e.g., hallucination in AI responses) and have clear protocols for validation and quality control to mitigate those risks.

Feedback Loops: Set up mechanisms to continuously monitor performance, gather user feedback, and iterate on the implementation strategy.

The key is not just preparedness but adaptability and change management as needed.

Claudia, this is a great question. However, given the nature of what we do as consultants, we haven't yet started preparing for this but would be very interested to see what other professionals and organizations are doing!

To prepare for working with Generative AI data, we are focusing on data assessment, risk management, and team readiness. We are critically examining our existing data for quality, security, and biases, while also developing strategies to mitigate potential risks like hallucinations and misinformation. We are providing training to our teams on AI literacy and developing new skills in areas like prompt engineering. Additionally, we are conducting small-scale pilot projects to gain practical experience and continuously adapting our strategies based on new research and best practices.

In my company, we are using AI to improve our in app chat support to be more accurate in answering customer questions. To do this, we reviewed the most common questions asked over the past year and used those questions to train the AI bot. We also uploaded our public support documentation to better direct customers for more information via our website.
