Claudia, this is a great question. However, given the nature of what we do as consultants, we haven't yet started preparing for this but would be very interested to see what other professionals and organizations are doing!
While we don’t yet have a formalized checklist specifically for Generative AI, we are building readiness through a structured framework that includes key protocols:
Policy Review and Development:
We are reviewing existing academic and administrative policies to address ethical considerations, data security, and intellectual property concerns related to Generative AI. This ensures our institution remains compliant with relevant regulations and respects data privacy.
Risk Assessment Protocols:
Our IT and academic leadership teams are developing guidelines to evaluate the reliability and biases of AI-generated outputs. We’re exploring tools to audit AI models, ensuring their application aligns with our educational goals and quality standards.
Capacity Building and Training:
Faculty and staff are being introduced to Generative AI tools through workshops and training sessions. The goal is to build confidence in identifying potential applications in curriculum development, administrative efficiency, and student engagement.
Pilot Testing and Feedback Loops:
We’ve started piloting Generative AI tools in limited-use cases, such as automating course outlines or drafting administrative reports. These pilots include robust feedback loops to assess outcomes and refine protocols before scaling up.
