We have not implemented any checklists, but we are working to determine how using GenAI can increase our PMOs efficiency and effectiveness while launching new projects. We do however us GenAI for other areas within our company.

I hope to use GenAI in developing project processes and approaches for a highly unstructured and unconventional project that is data management, governance, and analytics focused.

Thank you for sharing, Rami. This is an interesting approach that shows a 360 view of what AI can do for the profession. For me, the challenge is how we start making actionable approaches to these concepts (this is the reason for this thread :-). After exploring Copilot and other AI assistants it seems that they are already integrating aspects of predictive analytics, communication, generative design... improving our daily tasks and leading imperceptibly towards a complete transformation of the way we understand work. Which are your thoughts?
Project managers are not only supposed to create and manage project plans, we are to be business leaders within our organization. To add value by understanding the business, we need to know the business. Large and even small organizations have substantial knowledge bases. As PMs we are often assigned to a project using a technology, product, service we are unfamiliar with. With AI tools we can ask the AI service to analyze an organizations entire content management system and provide small , medium, or large deep dive into the product, service, or technology we are onboarding into for the project. Sharepoint, Service Now, Notion, etc. There could be hundreds or thousands of pages of information, would it be nice to get a 10 page report on everything the company has noted about a product or service. This helps the PM in a hour read understand enough to reach out to Stakeholders the day after project assignment and be able to have some hope of an intelligent conversation and add value and perhaps even a project execution approach to share with the sponsor.

Gen AI will sure help with minimizing the time spent on generating reports and extracting the necessary information to create a bullet and easy to understand format. It will reduce the tedious work and reduce the amount spent on reporting and more on engaging with others.

Claudia, in my company we are starting to use Gen AI for automation some tasks, but we still have some limitations due to the risk of sharing sensitive information.

I have developed scripting to ask each of my scheduled weekly and bi-weekly customer facing meetings. I upload the transcript and recording of the meetings and then run the scripts. I am able to quickly find the deliverables, who is responsible, and when are they due. I can then delegate who is responsible and set a workstream up to follow-up to ensure it was completed or what were the roadblocks. This drives PM efficiencies and effectiveness through the roof.

Hi Joseph, thank you for sharing. I am really curious about the tools you are using to make this possible (are you doing this with MS Teams, Power Automate, or others?). If you feel like sharing a little bit more, please reach me out internally. Thank you!

In my organization, the initial approach has been a combination of organic and "ground roots" efforts with targeted exploration of vendor-specific offerings. More recently efforts have picked up to really focus on individual productivity enhancements with examination of potential game changing use cases. From a project perspective, this means utilizing for enhancement of communication, generating draft documents, and preliminary research.
