Are you utilizing any specific checklists or protocols within your projects or company to assess your readiness for working with Generative AI data? I'm curious to know what strategies or tools you've implemented to prepare for integrating Gen AI into your workflows. Please share your approaches in the comments below!

Claudia, I agree with Rami. As consultants, we have yet to introduce such an initiative. Some organizations may be falling behind in considering it. I may be wrong because I do not have the complete picture of what organizations are considering introducing as their strategic direction, or have not considered taking such action.

I am new to GenAI , trying to grasp as much information as I can to be able to propose how to use AI in different aspects in project activities.

Hi Claudia, Although it is an interesting question and I read interesting answers here, I am not actively involved in implementing it as I am retired. But I do keep following the trends to stay focused and because it will have an impact on everyone's personal life as well as the industry. What I am mainly concerned with now is: reliability, recognizing AI generated content, ownership of data and data generated from it, and how AI will evolve into something that serves humanity instead of just the happy-few (companies and/or nations)... Singularity will come sooner than we think.

1. Think as an organization , business o project implementation data centered. We analized first the type and the quality of data. #datawherehouseculture

2. Clean, Segment, Categorize & Tag data

3. Identify the basics actions that we need to automate, predict or analyze for AI to match the model that we need & the road map to grow from bottom - up #process

4. SetUp & train the model

5. Test & learn

6. Adjust & aply lessons learned

7. Repeat

@ Claudia - My company specialises in collaborating with clients with regards to innovative R&D. Clients need to discover if the R&D they are considering has already been done elsewhere, so that the client can make more informed decisions on how to proceed.
divIn this regard Generative AI is something that my company is exploring./div

Yes, within our projects we've begun implementing structured readiness protocols to assess and guide the integration of Generative AI, particularly in industrial automation and SCADA systems. Our approach includes:

Data Governance Checklist: We evaluate data quality, labeling accuracy, and compliance (especially with sensitive operational data), ensuring it’s suitable for training or fine-tuning AI models.

Use Case Identification Matrix: We use this to score and prioritize AI use cases based on impact, feasibility, and risk. For instance, anomaly detection in power consumption patterns or predictive maintenance in control systems.

AI Ethics & Security Assessment: We include a checklist to evaluate algorithm bias, explainability, and security concerns (especially in ICS environments), aligned with ISA/IEC 62443 standards.

Infrastructure Readiness Protocol: We assess if our container-based infrastructure (e.g., Node-RED, Anaconda, InfluxDB in Docker Compose) is capable of running lightweight AI models, often tested with simple neural nets for proof-of-concept.

Team Skills & Tools Audit: We review the technical stack and team proficiency with Gen AI tools (e.g., OpenAI APIs, Hugging Face) and platforms like Jupyter, ensuring effective adoption.

Happy to share templates or examples if others are building similar frameworks. Would also love to hear how others are tackling readiness in industrial or data-critical environments.

Thank you all for the extremely informative posts. Has anyone used Gen AI in an IT services environment working with IT service providers to meet their requirements for internal customers?

I'm using external chatbots, primarily Copilot, and an internal chatbot (NIPRGPT) that appears to be based on Google's Gemini product. I've used it to generate project documents (project plan, technical requirements, slides, etc.) and to classify and edit language. It's cut the time required to create the base documents by 90% but requires close supervision.

Are there quantified results of these efforts? Is it logical to only apply AI in some areas, but not in others due to the time required to maintain the AI model?

I'm in the early stages of learning and development from a GenAI perspective. I'm testing the available free tools, including Infinity, and are just beginning to discuss and exchange ideas about a protocol that will help us evaluate the tools we can use based on the nature, size, and scope of the projects.
Thanks.
