1. Review the many posts contained within our Certification Discussion Group at https://www.projectmanagement.com/discussi...cation-central. Here you will find great suggestions from your fellow colleagues. You can reply to the comments in the various posts to gather additional information.

2. Reach out to your local chapter's website and request a mentor, as this is the best way to network with locals in your area and build relationships.

3. Join the Academic Network for updates and browse tools for students, educators, researchers, and academic programs - https://www.pmi.org/learning/academic-research

Vikramaditya,
If you are an engineering student now, I would suggest developing your engineering skills for a few years before trying to move into project management. Theory is important but practical experience in some discipline is essential. In electronics engineering there are many people involved and complex supply chains so you will experience how the various pieces fit together.

Manufacturing components such as electronics is often more production focused than project oriented so if you want to move into PM, I would suggest looking for jobs focused on new design rather than production efficiency. You are likely to find a more innovative culture where you get more opportunities to demonstrate your ability to move on to greater responsibilities.
