AI has helped with brainstorming on various things and assisting with documentation in some instances. While you have to vet the information you are seeing, it's truly a game-changer to partner with you on various items. Saving Changes...
I had success as a PM with Gen-AI in the following ways:
1. Using Fireflies notetaker to summarize meeting notes and action items.
2. Validate technical problems and solutions, asking GPT about certain problems that arise but out of my scope of knowledge. GPT summarizes and explains what's going on in plain English so I can suggest the correct expertise.
3. I took the U of Michigan Python for Everybody course and did all the lessons using GPT-4. I was able to complete the course without an issue. It really does write working code.

I have optimized workflows by automating content generation, which reduces manual labor and time spent on repeated tasks. This has resulted in higher productivity and faster project timeframes. Furthermore, the AI's ability to evaluate data and generate insights has made informed decision-making easier, resulting in more effective tactics and better outcomes for our initiatives. I have been using GenAI to generate code for the integration of several open-source databases, API frameworks, ETL, and analytical tools in my current project. I have also been using it for the generation of several technical specification documents, and comparative study documents of several open-source IT products. Saving Changes...

I was recently tasked with developing a PM and Agile Fundamentals training course handouts for our graduates. Creating course content was not a challenge. The help I really needed was to summarise and simplify the verbiage to make it easier for the target audience to understand. I used PMI Infinity extensively to test my understanding, spot trends in my data, and summarise pages of text into key points. I used prompts and refactoring to get the best out of it. I benefited from the increased efficiency and productivity. The end product was a huge success. I encourage PM's to start with practicall application of GenAI today. Saving Changes...

GenAI has helped me tremendously with Project Planning and Stakeholder Management. I've used AI to assist with outlining plans, setting timelines and even better defining deliverables. Also, because most of my projects are driven by consumer demand or response to competition, AI has helped with gathering information about market trends, competitor analysis, and consumer preferences to inform decision-making throughout the product life cycle.
Not only does AI help improve the quality of shared information with Stakeholders, AI- also helps with crafting effective communication addressing concerns or questions, which leads to better stakeholder management overall. Saving Changes...

I have used GenAI for a couple of small projects. One project I prepared a project plan where I had to revise the instructions several times to get the right output. Afterwards, I customized the plan further to develop the project plan that better fit the project. The second project required calculations for total life cycle costs, cost benefit analysis and a decision tree matrix (go, no-go chart). Saving Changes...

Our experience with Generative AI in our mostly traditional, limited-to-used, waterfall-based projects has been cautiously progressive. We've had some remarkable successes, especially in predictive maintenance and exploration simulations, where Gen AI models have provided valuable insights that were not evident through traditional methods.
Data played a crucial role in training these models with historical equipment data and geological information, leading to more accurate predictions and efficient exploration strategies.
However, the challenges were significant. Integrating AI into our waterfall project methodology required careful planning to accommodate iterative AI development cycles. Additionally, ensuring data quality and diversity was crucial yet challenging, given the variable nature of data in mining operations.
The benefits, though, were clear. We saw improved decision-making efficiency, reduced equipment downtime, and more targeted exploration efforts. These outcomes have encouraged us to continue exploring the potential of Generative AI in our projects, even within the constraints of our traditional project management frameworks. Saving Changes...
