I've used it, within a closed AI instance, to analyze interview transcripts to extract themes and form follow-up questions and next steps. It saved me many many hours of work, and while I did need to go through to validate the work it was still hugely helpful. I've found AI tools really helpful for getting started on a task you haven't done before, too.

For the Hutchinson Project for BC Housing, I leveraged Generative AI (GenAI) to support site reporting and performance monitoring by integrating field data with the project’s established performance measurement baselines developed during project planning in accordance with PMP.
The solution enabled continuous Monitor and Control Project Work by tracking and controlling all key baselines, including scope, schedule, and cost baselines. Using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques, I monitored schedule variance (SV) and cost variance (CV), and calculated Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and Cost Performance Index (CPI) to objectively assess project performance against the approved baselines.
This approach improved the timeliness and accuracy of performance reporting and allowed for early identification of deviations. In cases of non-compliance or under performance by the prime contractor, the system supported immediate escalation, enabling prompt corrective and preventive actions to be initiated in alignment with the Perform Integrated Change Control and Monitor Communications processes.
Overall, the use of GenAI enhanced decision-making, strengthened project governance, and improved proactive control of project scope, schedule, cost, and contractor performance.

I’ve seen Generative AI unlock some surprising efficiencies in my projects. For example, it helped automate content generation and data analysis tasks that would have taken hours, allowing the team to focus on higher-level strategy. Data quality was critical—clean, well-structured inputs made the outputs far more reliable.
Challenges included fine-tuning prompts to get usable results and ensuring the AI didn’t introduce errors or bias. The benefits were significant: faster turnaround, creative insights we might not have explored otherwise, and the ability to scale tasks without adding headcount.

Like sergio I also used ChatGPT to help me write a VBA sript for a macro enabled excel. I was able ot use this script in a document that gets frequently updated to allow me to just use 2 button clicks then select the file I wanted to import info from (the previous file). THis saved me hours of manual copy and paste work every time a new document is updated.
