Mine is "know your scope" of the project. When I first started my PM career, without any prior construction experience, I had a hard time dealing with stakeholders because I didn't know my "scope". Spending time going through the scope document (that's way before my PMP) built up my confidence and handling the project issues. Since then, every project I was assigned, it's my first task to take on. Would love to hear what you have to share...

My lesson learned is: Never comprimise Safety, no matter how minor the issue is. Safety comes first, quality follows.

An incident can happen in a glimpse of an eye so we never should leave unaddressed safety issues no matter how small they are because construction sites can be dangerous on so many fronts and the safety of the people working there comes first.
