Reflect on the movies and TV shows you've seen and share the one quote that you recall that is PM-related.
Mine is "I love it when a plan comes together" by Lieutenant Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith from the 80's The A-Team TV series. It is a good reminder that even when we are dealing with the most volatile and complex projects, planning as a journey (rather than a destination) is still necessary! Saving Changes...

The scene with Mr. Wolf (played by Harvey Keitel) in Pulp Fiction, where he's confidently giving orders to John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, is definitely memorable.
"I'm Winston Wolfe. I solve problems. If you let me do my job, I can guarantee you that you won't have any problems. I think fast, I talk fast, and I need you guys to act fast if you want to get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top. Clean the car."

That was actually my first thought myself, and those words have come to me many times but I wasn't quite sure if I should post that one considering the context.
I remember Andy Dwyer's quote at Parks & Rec "The show must go wrong!" So it's Murphy's Law relating to risk management, with the comedic antics.
On a separate note, here is an article for further reading https://www.pmi.org/learning/library/ten-l...literature-6968

'no plan survives the first contact with the enemy.'

I'll go with the quote from Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023) where Chris Pine's character is trying to explain what he does as a planner. Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiMinixSXII&t=120s Saving Changes...
I like a motivating scene of Mission Impossible I, where agent Ethan Hunt talks to the team, listing in detail the scenarios, challenges, and risks they will face in the mission of entering in a vault:
Ethan Hunt: "It's much worse than you think. The terminal is in a black vault locked down. The only person allowed in the room has to pass through a series of security checks. The first is a voice print identification with a six-digit access code. This only gets him into the outer room. Next, the person has to
pass a retinal scan, and finally, the intrusion countermeasures are only deactivated by a double
electronic key card which we won't have.
Now, inside the black vault, there are three systems operating
whenever the technician is out of the room: the first is sound sensitive, anything above a whisper activates his alarm; the second system detects any increase in temperature, even the body heat of an unauthorized person in the room will trigger it if the temperature rises just a single degree, that temperature is controlled by the air-conditioning coming in through an overhead duct 30 feet above the floor, that vent is guarded by a laser net; the third system is on the floor, and is pressure sensitive, slightest increase in weight will trigger the alarm. If any of these systems is set off, an automatic lockdown will be activated.
Now, believe me when I tell you, gentlemen, that all three systems are state-of-the-art."
Luther Stickell: "¿And you really think we can do this?"
Ethan Hunt: "We're going to do it." Saving Changes...
Giving here a couple of examples that also mention how these quotes can be used in project environment:
1. The greatest teacher, failure is.” - Yoda, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back * Impact in Movie: Yoda imparts wisdom to Luke Skywalker, teaching him that failure is an opportunity to learn and grow.
* Impact in Project Management: It conveys that mistakes should be viewed as learning experiences that contribute to personal and project development.
.2. It’s supposed to be hard. If it were easy, everyone would do it.” - Jimmy Dugan, A League of Their Own.
*Impact in Movie: This line motivates the characters to push through the difficulties of being a female baseball player during World War II.
*Impact in Project Management: It serves as a reminder that challenges are inherent in any worthwhile endeavor and that overcoming them is what leads to success. Saving Changes...
