The Seventh Edition of the PMBOK Guide already describes a tailoring process. Do you believe that a dedicated process should be added to the next edition (8th(. What do you think? Saving Changes...
Interesting idea. It is an ongoing process throughout the life of a project and certainly has ITTOs which could be identified...

Yes! The process for the review of the 8th PMBOK edition has started! I can't wait when it's open to review.

Thanks Francisco.
What I would really like is for PMI to stop using PM-terms/language for the Software development processes.
They are intentionally, two very separate process, each with its advantages and disadvantages.
It is NOT ok, for example, to state "Software PM."
cheers,
Bill

Not really, the note says: "PMI’s Standards and Publications department announces that it is initiating development to revise The PMBOK® Guide. Building upon the Principles-based Seventh Edition, extensive market research has been conducted to understand best practices in the field and content required to serve the needs of the project management community."
But in this lin we can follow the process: https://www.pmi.org/pmbok-guide-standards/about/current-projects

While continuous improvement is a desirable state, continuous expense is not. Based on the downstream effects of every PMBOK update, can't PMI consider an 8-10 year review cycle?

Ivanna,
to my knowledge, the update cycle requirement follows the ANSI process
