Lessons learned are a constant source of wisdom that we acquire in the course of each new project of which we are part. Certain lessons linger in our minds because they taught us something very significant. ¿What is that important lesson learned that you have never forgotten to this day?

Veronica, my most precious lesson learned was that what's more important than reaching the top, is staying there. We normally think that reaching the top is it, but as a matter of fact, staying on the top is much more difficult and requires so much resilience and hardwork.

Mine comes back to the first value statement from the Manifesto for Agile Software Development: Individuals & interactions over processes & tools. Early in my career, I focused too much on the latter and after some tough lessons learned, I realized the importance of the former.

I agree, the agile manifesto should be the guide for every PM

I would summarize my most valuable lessons learned with a quote by Scott Galloway: "Nothing is as good or bad as it seems."

Veronica,

I’ve habitually encapsulated my lessons learned into short quotes, putting a little humor into them, thus making them more memorable for myself and others.

Here’s one of my first that I put to memory:

- Projects, like life, are unpredictable; accepting this fact mitigates the likelihood of you spending more time on your therapist’s couch digging yourself out of the PIT (Project Induced Trauma).

George,
It's a good idea to have a collection of short quotes about lessons learned. Surely the addition of a bit of humor makes the quote more enjoyable.
