Validating and checking outputs is critical when working with AI systems like Generative AI. Such validation approaches may include establishing clear criteria, implementing strong testing protocols, and continuous refinement.
In your experience with AI, what are some best practices for ensuring the results you receive are accurate, relevant, and aligned with your original goals?

The real risk isn’t AI giving us wrong answers, it’s AI giving us convincing answers to the wrong questions.
That’s why validation can’t just be about accuracy. PMs need to frame prompts around value and outcomes, not just tasks. Otherwise, we’ll end up with faster reports that are perfectly polished… and strategically irrelevant.
The future PM isn’t the one who checks outputs, it’s the one who knows how to steer AI toward impact.

When using AI systems, ensure you're using the ReAct method to help the AI build on data. There are also prompts that help such as Chain of feedback, and feeding the AI with your current and update sources of information. Building in validation is an integrual part of how to ensure the AI aligns with the origial goals. This includes finding ares where Human in the loop processes need to be builtin to the overall project process. Saving Changes...

In my opinion to ensure that the AI results are accurate and truly aligned with the goals is very important to create clear and objective specifications using relevant datasets with high quality. Write prompts and provide a precise context so the AI understand the fully objective and goals. Saving Changes...

It needs the context, data that has the relevant information that needs to be analyzed and generated, prompt that is well defined and suited to the context. sometimes we need to train and verify based on the sample data before it is used for specific requirements Saving Changes...
To get specific, accurate, and goal-directed outputs from AI systems, start by giving clear and specific inputs with context and desired results. Verify outputs by fact-checking cross-references, asking for sources, and paraphrasing questions to verify consistency. Render results relevant by looping prompts back, setting boundaries, and referring back to your objectives. Use critical thinking always—don't blindly rely on AI, beware of bias, and check with domain expertise. Finally, save and repeat: save good prompts, try variations, and use quality controls. AI is such a fast, smart assistant—guide it well, proof carefully, and tune results to your goals. Saving Changes...
Refining a prompt can completely transform output quality. For example, asking “Explain project management” gives a vague overview, but reframing it as “Explain project management in simple terms with three real-world examples for secondary school students” produces clear, structured, and relevant insights. Adding context, specifying audience, and setting format or tone narrows the AI’s focus, reducing irrelevant or generic responses. Iterative refinement—refining goals, boundaries, and exclusions—is often enough to shift results from vague or generic to highly tailored and actionable. In my work, the difference between a mediocre and a great output is usually how well the prompt is refined. Saving Changes...
