With Generative AI, iteratively refining and optimizing prompts can lead to better AI-generated results. This may involve adjusting the specificity or clarity of the prompt to increase relevance and accuracy of results.

What examples do you have of how improving a prompt drastically changed the output quality?  What specific changes did you make that led to the improvement?

Thank you for sharing this thoughtful perspective. I completely agree that prompt refinement makes a significant difference in the quality and usefulness of GenAI outputs. Your point about providing context, constraints, and the desired format is especially important in project management, where clarity and accuracy directly impact decisions and stakeholder alignment.
I have also found that the more specific the prompt, the more practical and relevant the response becomes. Treating prompt creation as a skill is becoming just as important as interpreting the results. Your insight clearly highlights how effective prompting can save time, improve communication, and support better project outcomes.

you definitely get improved quality of the output when refining a prompt, not to mention a usable framework for future prompting as well.

I have not had a chance to use these new formulas yet but I am having a better understanding of the value in them. I often receive long, vague answers that I need to refine afterwards - if I had been more specific in the beginning, I feel this would save a lot of time. I also really like the concept of assigning AI a "role".

Refining a prompt in my experience as a beginner in this field has impacted nearly 100% of the initial results. I believe this will change in the near future due to major practise, but I have identified 2 main factors that have changed most of my approaches: adding context and adding examples.

Refining a GenAI prompt is like clarifying & refining requirements for leadership—the clearer the context, audience, and success criteria, the more reliable, decision‑ready the output becomes.

There is never a time that i am not refining my prompt, it is the most accurate way to work with the tool.

Refining a prompt can completely transform the output because it forces the AI to align with the goal instead of guessing. A vague prompt might produce something generic, but adding clarity about the goal, audience, constraints, or format often generates responses that are sharper, more actionable, and aligned with what is actually needed. Small adjustments like specifying tone or level of detail shift the output.
