What exactly do you expect from the software in respect to resource allocation and project scheduling?
Different companies can use different technologies, assign different crews for the same works, resource productivities can differ from one company to another, etc. So using the data based on other projects managed by other companies can be misleading.
It makes sense to create internal corporate norms and reference-books for resource allocation and productivity, resource skills and activity material requirements, create a set of typical fragments that describe typical technological processes and use them when creating new project schedule. This approach to creating project model is supported by Spider Project software.
If you will enter activity type and volume of work to be done the software will select and assign resource crew, calculate activity duration, cost, material consumption based on corporate reference-books (databases of the corporate norms). Project schedule can be created using ready to use blocks (typical fragments).
