Julie, the first edition of this guide is a great starter and provides a structured and comprehensive understanding of AI.
What would be beneficial, which I trust is coming in the next training course, are real-life case studies of AI applications!

Greetings,
Thanks for sharing this, Julie! I’m excited to see how AI is being explored in the context of project management. I agree that the guide provides a solid foundation, and I'm looking forward to digging deeper into how these AI patterns can be applied in real world scenarios. It would also be great to hear more from others about how they’re beginning to integrate AI into their workflows and what challenges or successes they’ve experienced so far. Saving Changes...
Julie, thank you for bringing this topic to our attention!
I find it beneficial that the following publication will provide: a) diverse insights and perspectives on the ethical, legal, and social considerations around AI so that project management professionals are equipped to appraise different AI technologies.
b) Change Management - to allocate more attention to this discipline, which AI is also revamping. Here is the link to an insightful article by Prosci for inspiration:

Hi Maria,
The publications team is currently working on 2 more AI publications. The first will be another guide focusing on project professionals adopting AI: What are the areas of concern? How to do due diligence? etc. This guide should be released in Q1 2025.
The second is The Standard for AI in Portfolio, Program, and Project Management. This will be a longer-form book (similar in format to our other Standards and Practice Guides) that will discuss issues like governance, legalities, etc for project professionals using AI. The content is being developed and reviewed by volunteer SMEs and will probably be available in Q4 2025 or early 2026.

Hi, Julie. It is great to hear about 2 AI publications next year. Looking forward
I request for certification course on AI-based project management which would not only meet the growing demand for skilled professionals but also enhance PMI's educational offerings, ensuring that project managers are well-prepared for the future. I am waiting for such course from a recognised Institute.

Hi Sushant,
You probably heard that PMI recently acquired Cognilytica. There is a CPMAI certification that might be of interest to you.

Unfortunatelly there are big mistakes inside the guide. For example, in "Categories of Ai". Once again, like made with agile, the PMI is contributing to the general confusion. I am really sad about that. The problem is this type of things jeopardizes the work of people like me and others that are working with AI from long time ago. But mainly, is jeopardizing things about the credibility the whole market has on PMI. Why the PMI do not take the right way? And this is not because I am saying that, just the PMI need to go to the sources that are there from 1945 or before. I am thinking to publish this on linkedin to open a general wide debate. Just to learn if I am wrong from lot of people comments. Please let me just my last recommendation to my debate mates: take a look and understand what AI really is.

Thank you Sergio bringing this topic up. Yes, I would like to learn more from you, your perspective- from what 'AI' really is: May be it is about inviting other members or non-members with a different background/perspective (global ); so we can see/learn from both Project /Program Management perspective and professionals from Technology /foundations/fundamentals of what 'Generative AI' really is about etc and Project Management perspective) Thank you Sergio Rodrigues and Julie Hardison for this discussion. Looking fwd to learning more on this topic.

I am always be glad to help. But please let me say, while I do not like to sound rude (just take into account English is not my first language). I suppose the PMI has request help to create this documents from people that have knowledge on AI. They do not need to be subject matter experts, just to have knowledge. Issues like the one I mentioned above fall under their own weight. Again, not because I said so. It has been in the AI literature for more than 40 years. So, I honestly don't understand. Personally, I have been working with AI since 1986 and have a master's degree in knowledge engineering. But that doesn't matter. There are many more people out there with much more knowledge than me who can help. By the way: why doing that in private mode? Why do not post the query to request the feedback you need in a published way?
