In terms of concepts, they are distinct but related at the same time. GenAI is the broad field of artificial intelligence focused on creating new content while prompt engineering is a technique used within generative AI to get optimal results.

In simpler terms, GenAI is the technology, and prompt engineering is the skill or technique needed to maximize its effectiveness.

Generative AI models are a form of Artificial Intelligence that learns patterns from existing data and uses these to generate new content.

For the other part, prompt engineering is a useful process when interacting with Artificial Intelligence systems. It consists of providing specific instructions or queries to get a particular response from the model. It helps a lot when we want to achieve a desired outcome.

Prompt Engineering can be considered a technique or tool that we can use with generative AI.
