Calling all project management pros!

Exciting news - starting today, 20 December 2024, you can help shape the future of project management by participating in PMI's Draft Comment Period (DCP) for the PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition.

This is the most data-driven update yet, designed with your input in mind!

The DCP runs for 30 days, closing on January 19, 2025, and it’s your chance to weigh in on updates like emerging trends, updated terminology, enhanced processes, expanded principles, and more.

Plus, this edition includes dedicated appendices on Project Management Offices, Artificial Intelligence, and Procurement. Don’t miss out—head to publiccomment.pmi.org starting today, December 20 to review the draft and share your thoughts!*

We can’t wait to hear from you.

* Please note that feedback is only open to PMI Members

I know what I'll be spending some time on over the holidays :-)

This'll be the fourth draft PMBOK® Guide which I've had the chance to provide feedback on and likely the last one I'll feel like contributing to.

Already reviewed the Standard for Project Management document. I haven't looked yet at the PMO appendix to the PMBOK, or any of the PMBOK 7th Edition.

I made a few comments in the Standard regarding recognition of PMOs and the value they bring to project management and organizations as a whole. I feel it would be good to have it interleaved in some ways, rather than just as a dedicated appendix, especially since the PMO Guide will be published soon.

The comments are closed before the deadline on January 19, 2025. wonder why? They don't want to accept any more comments or getting defensive about the comments submitted - so decided to close the feedback submissions.
