Hey people, for the people who are certified by PMI, which is the source that you use most often to earn PDUs that are required for the validation of your certification? Is there a particular reason for it?

Mine have mostly always been from giving back to the profession through writing and presenting. I have got my minimum education ones mostly through reading and attending free webinars.

Having held multiple PMI certifications dating back 25 years, I have yet to have had to pay for PDUs...

Wow thats amazing Kiron! I paid for my CAPM PDUs but for my PMP, I have also been attending webinars, educating myself through free courses and of course, through volunteering as well.

When it comes to earning PDUs, I primarily earn my PDUs through my day-to-day project work, volunteer activities, and attending related conferences.
Regards! Francisco.

Specifically for PMI, I have been using the PMI store and buying the free training offered. Those change frequently enough to build PMI specific PDUs to keep me qualified between recertification.

The Coursera website has also been a nice source of useful up-to-date certification for professional development.

Thanks for the information Shea! Sure, the PMI store helps although, I havent been there myself. Maybe just once or twice. For me, I choose courses through Linkedin Learning which are valid for earning PDUs and of course, Coursera helps as well. There are also some cool podcasts related to project management which can help with the PDUs. Here is one: https://thedigitalprojectmanager.com/

I watch videos primarily, and I write articles if I have a novel thought I feel is worth sharing with the PM community.

Good to know, Eric! I used to write articles earlier on Linked, not related to project management though because the aim wasnt PDUs then. Got a little rusty now :(

Bisharah, I hold 10 PMI credentials, and I maintain them by accumulating PDUs through a combination of:

1) Practicing as a practitioner
2) Taking courses
3) Attending conferences and webinars
4) Volunteering in various capacities

Most of my credentials are currently valid until 2028 or 2029.
