Are you the only project manager or are there others who lead projects in your company? Is there support from your leadership team for establishing a PMO? With regards to standardizing processes, I'd suggest starting as simple as possible by introducing some basic consistency and discipline around status reporting and the planning and tracking of the triple constraint, risks, actions & issues.

DHINESHKUMAR NAGARAJAN Setting up a PMO is a great move! I’d suggest starting with a few key documents like project charters, schedules, and risk logs. Keep your processes simple initially and focus on aligning them with organizational goals. Develop a step-by-step process for project initiation, planning, execution, and closure. Use tools like project management software for visibility.

Since you're the only PMP-certified person, your role is key to educating your team on the importance of these processes. As you get buy-in, gradually expand the scope of the PMO.

You will find all related to how setup a new business unit, call it PMO, inside the PMI´s business analysis documentation, mainly the practice guide. It is not a matter to have a template only.

Dhineshkumar,

Before establishing a PMO, I recommend reviewing its value to your organization and identifying the pain points you aim to address. That will give you a starting point for determining what templates you will need. Please check out the PMO Practice Guide that Rami mentioned.

All the best,
Aung
