As the CoP has move to this site, an in order of resume the discussions of the group, i want to suggest to all my fellow Legal Project Managers to do a little presentation of yourself and start talking again. I really wanna propose to all of you in thinking how we can reactive the Legal Project Management CoP because in the past months (even years) we have not share much.

I start with my presentation:

My name is Daniel Santiago Acevedo, i have a LLB of Icesi University (Colombia) and then i studied Legal Project Management in IE Madrid (Spain). For the past 2 years i have been promoting the legal project management and legal process improvement approach in colombian law firms and in latinamerica in general. Im currently the lead of the Quality and Projects department in Posse Herrera Ruiz, one of the top-tier colombian law firms with headquarters in Bogotá D.C. Im also the founder member of Legal Hackers Bogotá Chapter, a community created for studying the impact of technology in the exercise of the profession.

In the recent months i've been working pretty hard in the Agile Project Management approach to legal matters and creating improvement projects in several areas of the firm base in Legal Management and Seix Sigma methods and tools. I have strong knowledge in Business Process Management and Lean Six Sigma and i combine this frameworks with traditional project management and agile project management.

Hope everybody are encouraged to write about themselves and have the same enthuasiasm for reinventing the practice of Law in the XXI century.

I look forward to talking with you soon and share experiences.

Greetings from Colombia!

Janice Henderson Law Librarian Consultant & Trainer| Consultant Brooklyn, Ny, United States
My name is Janice E. Henderson. I'm a law librarian in NYC. My goal is to use all the knowledge I've gained as a legal librarian in the legal project management area. I will be taking my CAPM this Spring. Although I've been a member of this CoP since I joined PMI in 2012 I have not contributed very often. I hope to become more active now. I will be taking the NYU Project Management Certificate course, Legal Services in PM starting in the next couple of weeks. It's being taught by Lawrence Knoll. So maybe I could begin by asking questions on issues that come up in class.

Looking forward to future conversations!

Hello all! I am the Director of Projects & Program Management for Taft Stettinius & Hollister with offices in Ohio, Indiana & Illinois. We are exploring LPM as an official model for our attorneys with the understanding that we do not want to disrupt the outstanding service they are already providing.

I am looking forward to hearing from others!

Amanda, nice to meet you! When you wish, we can talk about the implementation process of LPM methodologies in law firms. Maybe i have one or two recommendations about this matter taht can help you.

Alejandro, great to see you here. Hope you can find that the legal services industry is an exciting and non-explored field where you can apply project management. There are great opportunities.

Greetings to both!

Interested in finding out if this string is still active, and if the LPM designation still lives? I am always on the lookout for persons working in the Legal area and getting connected with them. There seems to be so few of us, that it is helpful to know a few more…
