Colleagues, I'm curious to hear how you promote the PMBOK project management principles in your projects, and with whom. Personally, I think it's a good idea to share them at least with the project team. I even believe mentioning one principle at the start of each daily stand-up meeting could be very effective.

But I'm wondering, what specific methods or tools do you use to promote these principles?

I completely agree that sharing PMBOK principles with the project team is essential! Incorporating one principle into daily stand-ups is a fantastic idea—it keeps everyone aligned and reinforces the importance of those concepts. In my experience, using visual aids like posters or digital dashboards that highlight these principles can also serve as constant reminders for the team. What methods have you found effective?

Golam that's a good point! Visual aids are definitely helpful. Maybe you could share as an example a banner or poster with the principles? Also, as some colleagues mentioned, demonstrating these principles by example is key. We should also connect them with our project management processes. I'll look into implementing all these ideas!

I agree, team awareness is crucial.
We integrate PMBOK principles through:

Tailored training: Focusing on relevant knowledge areas.
Template standardization: Aligning project documents with PMBOK guidelines.
Regular reviews: Ensuring processes adhere to established principles.
Visual aids: Charts or diagrams to illustrate key concepts.
Case studies: Applying PMBOK to real-world scenarios
By applying PMBOK principles, a retail company can ensure a successful and well-managed implementation of its new customer loyalty program for example.

Hi, teacher.

At Coppel in specific Mesa de servicio, while we don't use technical project management terms, we do apply similar principles. We ensure everyone understands the purpose of each project, like opening a new store or a new campaign. We share this information with all involved teams. In our meetings, we emphasize the importance of teamwork and good communication. We don't use specific tools to promote these principles, but meetings are key for open discussion and ensuring everyone is aligned and working towards the same goal.

Luis Armando that's excellent! Congratulations on your practices at Coppel. It's great to see how you apply project management principles even without formal terms. Teamwork and clear communication are key, and it sounds like you do that very well.

I consider this an excellent topic. Personally, as an Architect and from the Design and Projects Department, I see great value in promoting the principles of the PMBOK, especially in time management, quality, and communication. In our case, we apply these principles from conceptual planning to the execution of architectural projects.

As a reinforcement strategy, we have begun to partially implement tools such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), which allows us, as an interdisciplinary team, to enhance collaboration and real-time change management. Additionally, in our coordination meetings, we often refer to key principles such as value delivery and adaptability, ensuring that each project phase remains aligned with the established objectives or goals.

I also want to add that I really like the idea of sharing a principle at the beginning of each meeting to evaluate whether any tangible improvements have been observed by doing so.

Saldos! FH,
In my opinion, the key to promoting the principles of PMBOK® lies not only in mentioning them but in integrating them into the team's routine and associating them with real-life situations. Your idea of mentioning them at the beginning of each meeting is excellent for fostering familiarity with the principles. Complementing this with visual tools, interactive dynamics, and the documentation of practical cases will further strengthen the adoption of these best practices.
I believe that promoting the principles of PMBOK® at AM Aceros requires a combination of daily practices, digital tools, continuous training, and an organizational culture oriented towards principle-based management. Integrating them into meetings, using digital boards, documenting lessons learned, and encouraging training will ensure that the team not only knows the principles but also applies them consistently, resulting in a more efficient and structured digital project.
