The new PMO Practice Guide as been out for a few months now. Have you used it in your organization to refresh your PMO or to build a new one?

How did it go?

Unfortunately, I haven't read that new PMO Practice Guide yet. To be honest, I'm not even sure if they know about it in my organization.

From my point of view, it would be a good idea to have quality circles to compare what the guide says with what we actually do. Like a continuous improvement process.

Maybe with what you all colleagues share in this discussion, I can find some ideas to suggest a review here in my organization.

Regards! Francisco

Mike Frenette Yes, I’ve started using the new PMO Practice Guide as a reference for aligning our PMO goals with actual business value. What I appreciate most is how it emphasizes adaptability especially useful in hybrid environments. We’re not doing a full overhaul, but it’s been helpful for recalibrating our stakeholder engagement and outcome tracking processes. Still a work in progress, but it’s a solid guide for practical improvements.

That is great news, Pavan! Any lessons learned around executive awareness of the new approach?

"It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars and so on -- whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man -- for precisely the same reasons."
