Greetings PM Community, I need your help!

Some quick background first: I have recently joined a growing but global organization that has a mixed level of IT project management practices in place. Some very structured due to the level of regulation in the industry, and some less-so. Underlying it all is a lack of visibility to how much work is being performed, resource availability, and an IT cultural direction of 'get things done.' Oh, and funding is at a premium (or non-existent).

Now, with that being said, I have been tasked with 'developing' and delivering a new solution in conjunction with our Project Management Group Director (no we do not have a PMO, yet) to help improve how we manage projects, assign resources, and (from an overall IT perspective) maintain an awareness of work/tasks that needs to be completed. Yes, there are resource and work contentions that happen often and we are trying to 'solve' for that as well.

Here is what I need:
Information on using Copilot, Teams, Planner (or Project), SharePoint (which is the underlying foundation of Teams), Exchange/Outlook - all existing Microsoft products - for visible project management. I have been tasked to look into working with what we have available and see what I can accomplish in the ways of - Task Management, Project Planning, Reminders, Workload/capacity, better project management practices.
As I said funding is tight and PPM isn't free.
I'm looking for anyone that may have some additional insight on how we could make these products work for us as what we have now is not enough.

I look forward to our discussions!
-David Reed
