Project Management Portfolio (PMP) Software Systems Recommendations - Large Company

I'm looking for recommendations for Project Management Portfolio software for large a large company.  I've seen posts about this topic, but it was 2021 - and I'm looking for a more recent recommendation.

For large enterprises, tools like Planview, Clarity PPM, or ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management offer robust features. Microsoft Project for the Web + Power BI works well if you’re already in the Microsoft ecosystem. Also check Smartsheet Advance for flexible governance and visibility. Scalability and integration are key!

John Vollick - I cannot recommend Jira and Confluence enough. We have implemented a normalized nomenclature, workflows, business rules, visualizations like Dashboards, robust WBS/Gantt charts (using an app layered on from Tempo Software), and all sorts of awesome templates that were created in house and shared across the business units, and so much more. Its user friendly, hugely collaborative, and endlessly scalable if configured smartly. We have centralized the management of all the functional settings/fields/workflows/etc. that need to be/should be standardized and decentralized all the Team/Org based nuances for everything else to enable to the teams to get the customizations that matter to them. I'm telling you, its a game changer. I know its not thought of traditionally as a PM Software tool of choice, but from what I have been able to do with it, that reputation needs to change soon. People are missing out lol! Small to large projects, individual to interconnected, portfolios and programs, it can do it, and it scales really well!

Of course, this is just in my humble opinion lol. Also, to be clear, I do not work for Atlassian hahah!

We use both Jira and DevOps. Unfortunately, we have custom automation build around both.

It will depend on your defined portfolio management process. In my two last work places I was in charge to implement Lean Portfolio Management then we used CoFund with MS ADO and then Jira Align (because we implemented SAFe)

In my company, we have used Microsoft Project and Planview; both are considered good options and are well-positioned in the Gartner quadrant.

Atlassian is the Jira parent company. Contact or research the site to see if they have a product to help shape portfolio management in that existing system you have. Also in that system ServiceNow and Microsoft Dynamics 365 will play well and give you thye opportunity to build something custom to your needs.

choosing project management software is all about flexibility and clear communication. I once led a team using a tool that integrated task boards with real-time code collaboration, much like Vibe Coding’s approach to seamless teamwork. This helped us track progress while developers could share code snippets instantly, reducing delays and misunderstandings. For me, the key is having a system that supports both project visibility and direct developer interaction.
