CPMAI Exam

linkedin twitter facebook   Artificial Intelligence
Hello, I am 75% through the CPMAI course and cannot help thinking about the exam.  The course is so terminology laden that I am getting a bit panicked about what the exam will be like.  Is there a comprehensive practice exam that is available? I plan on going through all of the quizzes again but I know that is not the same as a fresh practice exam. Are there many of the "select all that apply" types of questions? If so are those weighted in such a way that if you miss one out of the total correct options that you will not get the entire thing marked wrong? Example- 4 correct selections but I only selected 3-- would the entire question get marked wrong or only 25%. I am looking for some direction, as I am feeling a bit lost when it comes to preparing for the exam. I appreciate any help. Thank you

I just took the cert boosters exam and got 57%. Sigh. I mean it tells you what you got wrong. I will say that I think the ethics portion of the workshop is outdated and doesn't prepare you well for the questions as that's most of them I got wrong and I just finished that module so the content is fresh. I do think one of the questions that I got wrong was actually correct because their answer didn't make sense and chatgpt agreed with me. So back to trying to learn all of this with algorithms and models and what they all do, which was most of the rest of what I got wrong. The questions I took on the PMI exam workbook I passed so I don't know.
Oh no- that is not great to hear and what I was afraid of. It is not helpful to move to a proctored exam and not offer any support or full length practice exams. I am all too familiar with courses that have tests that are not anywhere close to the course and quizzes. My employer paid for this course for me and I am really wishing I just paid for it myself because it is adding stress that there is no test prep help and that my employer is expecting me to pass and get certified. I did fine on the included 15 practice questions but I also know not to rely on that because practice examples tend to be easier and nothing like the exam.
Does CertBoosters allow you to retake once you purchase? Or is it only the one chance?

Jennifer, when I took the exam back in February, it wasn’t proctored. Even if it had been, the questions weren’t particularly complex. In my experience, if you have a solid understanding of the concepts, you should be well-prepared.

Over the years, I’ve earned several certifications, many of which didn’t offer practice exams. While practice exams can be helpful, they can also be misleading, especially if they give the impression they closely mimic the real test, only for you to find out they don’t. That’s why I recommend not relying too heavily on them. Instead, focus on fully understanding the course material and developing a deep grasp of the underlying concepts and processes. That approach has served me best.

Hope this helps - Good Luck!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I appreciate that you were able to take the exam under different conditions - without proctoring and with access to notes. While I agree that understanding core concepts is essential, I cannot ignore the many terms that exist in the course along with other topics that may stray away from the absolute core, that would be free reign to add in the exam

This course is exceptionally terminology-heavy, with many similar-sounding terms and concepts that can be easily confused under pressure. The shift to a proctored format creates additional challenges that weren't part of your testing experience. Having access to notes of course would be a great help as it isn't about searching for answers during the exam - it's about having that safety net to reduce anxiety and help maintain focus on demonstrating actual knowledge rather than fighting test anxiety.

The proctoring environment itself presents obstacles for me personally. Being monitored creates an initial adjustment period that eats into valuable exam time, and the unfamiliar setting adds unnecessary stress that can impact performance regardless of preparation level.

My main concern is the lack of clear study guidance for this terminology-intensive course. Without specific direction on which concepts to prioritize or focus areas to streamline my preparation, I'm struggling to study efficiently because now I feel like I need to know every detail since there is not any guidance. I'd appreciate any specific insights you might have about particular areas or types of terminology that proved most important, given the course's scope.

Jennifer, I totally understand your point of view and concern especially that you're not used to the PMI proctored exam environment so this could be challenging if it's your first time.

All I can say is you should have a deep understanding of all concepts. I don't think memorizing would have helped me a lot in the exam unless the exam questions changed since I took the exam. Keep us posted!

Hi all,

At this point, does anyone know of a platform that offers a CPMAI certification bundle of practice tests for training and exam preparation?

I’d appreciate any recommendations that include updated and reliable test sets or simulations.

Thanks in advance!

I have been using ChatGPT to create questions that are formatted like the tests. This has been very helpful as it can also format the answers into a study guide format and link to the uploaded slides where it got the information. I take my test in a week so here is hoping!

Hi Cherri, do you mind sharing the prompt(s) you used to create the questions, and did you find them close to the format of the offical exam ?

Also did you need to attach the course slides, Exam content outline etc ?

Thanks!

Were you able to see your score after the exam? I passed, but I didn’t receive any breakdown of my performance. I'm really curious to know how many answers I got right.

Hi, Cherri.

First off, congratulations on your passing of the CPMAI exam!

To confirm, is the proctored online exam "closed book"?

Thanks!

Like Cherri, I too used ChatGPT (Gemini, Claude) to generate scenario based questions to prepare for the exam. These tools can generate up to 20 questions in one go. I also passed the exam.

Here is the prompt I used after I uploaded the slides. I did the slides in relelvant sections as if you upload all of them it won't reference all of them

Review the attached slides and create a exam of 25 questions that are comprised of True and False, Multiple choice, select all that apply questions and add real world scenarios with multiple choice answers to fully test my knowledge. Provide the correct answers separate from the questions in a study guide format that references or links to the slide

Yes, I passed the exam on July 17 at a Prometric test center. It was proctored in-person.
