Hello, hoping to lean into this wonderful community to assist. I am planning to apply, study, and take the PgMP Program Management Exam with PMI. How do you recommend I study for this exam? What helped you pass the exam? For the PMP, I read the PMBOK and loved the Rita Mulcahy study guide and did practice questions.
Thank you in advance. Saving Changes...
Hi Chintal, for the PgMP exam, building on your PMP experience, I would recommend focusing on the Program Management Standard by PMI, as well as the PgMP Exam Content Outline. Since you have already done well with PMBOK and Rita’s study guide for PMP, keep using those techniques but also make sure you are diving deeper into program-level concepts, thinking more strategically and holistically.
Doing lots of practice tests is key, especially ones that challenge your critical thinking. The PgMP exam has a strong focus on analyzing scenarios and applying knowledge in real-world contexts, so practicing those kinds of questions will really help. Consider joining study groups or discussion forums too, where you can learn from others’ experiences and insights.
Good luck!

Dear Chintal,
There are many test options available in bookstores. You can search on Amazon or explore online platforms like Udemy for additional resources. Personally, I find both Udemy and Amazon offer quite a good selection.
I won’t recommend anything specific, as I’m not directly affiliated with those authors or courses. Ultimately, it depends on your personal understanding and which approach works best for you. When choosing a service provider, make sure to stay vigilant, check reviews and use them to guide your decision. For example, some websites may showcase a lot of certifications to attract people to buy their so-called consultation services, but upon closer inspection, you might find they lack relevant, hands-on experience.
Good luck with your exam!

Chantal, I did the exam a few years ago and shared my lessons learned through my blog. Here is the link:

I took the exam long time ago so I can’t currently recommend simulation exams. Im sure there are a few but I am not up to date on this front. Saving Changes...
