Hi, can anyone clarify why the answer to this question is C, not A?

A project is in development when a functional manager leaves the company and is no longer involved with the project. What should the project manager do first?

A.Update the change log.
B.Update the risk register.
C.Update the stakeholder register.
D.Update the assumption log.

I read the justification provided but it doesn't seem to be convincing: It is important to update the change log, risk register, and assumption log, however, that should not happen before the project manager updates the stakeholder register. Shouldn't the change log be updated to reflect such a change before any project archive can be updated next?

There is no info on the specific role the functional manager is playing. They might merely be an interested observer who needs to be kept informed. The change log would normally be updated if there was a formal change request of some kind which would result in changes to one or more of the project's baselines but there are no clues that this manager's leaving would result in that. As such, the most correct answer is the updating of the stakeholder register to reflect that there is one less stakeholder to be concerned about.
