Product Owners are expected to maximize business value.
Project Managers aim to deliver long-term strategic outcomes.

But what happens when short-term business value conflicts with long-term strategic direction?

- Who should have the final say in prioritization decisions, PO or PM?
- Can we really talk about strategic agility if everything is driven by immediate pressures?
- Are some "urgent" priorities just poor planning in disguise?

A healthy balance is key. The PO drives short-term value, while the PM safeguards long-term outcomes. When priorities clash, alignment through transparent discussions and clear vision from leadership is vital. True agility isn’t reacting to pressure — it’s making informed trade-offs that serve both today’s goals and tomorrow’s direction.

Absolutely agree
Balance and alignment are everything.
When Product Owners and Project Managers work from the same vision, “short-term vs long-term” stops being a conflict and becomes a dialogue about sustainable value.
True agility, as you said, is not speed, it’s wisdom in motion.
