In most cases, earned money is linked to the value of the effort, skills, knowledge, and results a person provides, not just the amount of hard work. Smart work, expertise, demand, and consistency often increase earnings more than effort alone.

Earned money is not always directly proportional to the effort exerted. While more effort can lead to higher earnings in some cases, especially in hourly roles, in project management it is primarily the value delivered and results achieved that determine income (not just the amount of effort put in).

There’s no fixed link between money and effort.
Working harder doesn’t automatically mean earning more. What usually matters more is the value of what you’re doing, how rare that skill is, and how much demand there is for it.
You can put in a lot of effort and earn little, or less effort in the right place and earn more. It depends more on where the effort goes than how much of it there is.
