Does anyone have any tips or tricks for passing the CPMAI exam? I took the course and then got an 84% on the practice exam but then didn't pass the actual exam. I am just wondering what I can do differently next time. Appreciate any help you can offer

Getting 84% on the practice exam and still not passing the actual one is actually a very specific signal. It usually means one of two things: either the practice questions were easier or more predictable than the real exam, or you were pattern-matching answers rather than truly understanding the underlying concepts.

A few things to try differently:
1. Understand the "why" behind every wrong answer and every right one.
Don't just note what the correct answer is. Ask yourself: why is this right, and why are the other three wrong? If you can't explain it, you haven't learned it, you've memorized it.

2. The CPMAI exam is heavily concept-driven, not process-driven.
Unlike PMP, it tests your understanding of AI project lifecycle nuances: data readiness, model governance, ethical considerations, and iterative delivery. Make sure you're not approaching it like a traditional PM exam.

3. Simulate real exam conditions.
84% under comfortable conditions can drop significantly under timed pressure. Practice full-length timed sessions with no breaks, no second-guessing allowed. Train your brain for the actual experience, not just the content.

4. Review the CPMAI body of knowledge directly.
Sometimes course materials don't cover everything the exam tests. Go back to the official CPMAI framework and cross-check your weak areas against it.
You're clearly close.

Tshe gap between 84% practice and not passing is a technique gap, not a knowledge gap. Adjust the approach and you'll get there.

This sounds like a session I'd definitely be interested in attending. One of the biggest challenges I see is figuring out where AI genuinely adds value versus where it's just another tool to manage. There are so many new platforms available that it can be difficult to know which ones are worth adopting.

I'd also love to learn more about practical, real-world examples of AI improving project outcomes, not just saving time on documentation, but helping with risk prediction, stakeholder communication, and decision-making. Even in service businesses, we're starting to see AI and automation streamline scheduling, customer communication, and operations. For example, while working on a website for a power washing company (https://powerwashinglv.us/), it became clear how automation can improve both the customer experience and day-to-day business processes.

I agree that project managers aren't being replaced; our role is evolving, and skills like critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with AI will become even more important over the next few years.

Looking forward to your session and the discussion!
