Why every modern PMO needs an Operating Model.

Most PMOs don’t fail because of tools or templates — they fail because they lack a clear, shared model for how they create value.

Over the past year I’ve been refining a simple framework that helps PMOs move from reactive reporting to predictable, value‑driven delivery.

It’s built around four domains:

1️⃣ Governance & Assurance — confidence, consistency, control

2️⃣ Planning & Control — structure, visibility, predictability

3️⃣ People, Skills & Culture — capability, collaboration, leadership

4️⃣ Value, Strategy & Outcomes — alignment, measurement, improvement

When a PMO operates through these domains, everything changes:

• Delivery becomes predictable

• Stakeholder confidence increases

• Teams collaborate more effectively

• Value becomes measurable

I’ve packaged the full model (including quadrant definitions, guidance, and maturity criteria) into a downloadable visual framework.

If you want the PMO Wheel PDF, comment “PMO” and I’ll share it.

Helping organisations deliver predictable, value‑driven outcomes.
