Hello everyone!

I am very new to the project management field. I recently passed my CAPM exam on May 15th 2026 and what I am looking for is a way to get hands-on experience so I can apply what I learned. I am currently working full-time and not looking to switch full-time careers until I have a better understanding and able to apply what I have learned through my last six months of studying for the CAPM. If anyone is willing to be a mentor or at least guide me on where I should start, I’d appreciate any information.

Are there opportunities to utilize what you have learned so far in your current full time role? While you may not wear the title "PM", you could still gain experience with specific PM tools & techniques, even if you are in an operational role. I'd also suggest if you have the capacity to reach out to some not-for-profit organizations in your area to see if they are accepting volunteers as that might be an alternate way to gain experience.

Finally, from a mentor perspective, I'd suggest lining up one or more mentors once you are actively engaged in some PM-related work so that the mentor can help you achieve specific growth objectives related to that work.

Congrats on passing your CAPM The best way to learn PM is by practicing, not only reading theory.
You can try my Scrum Project Management tool as a hands-on practice environment: https://lov111vol.com/scrum-project-management
You can use it to practice backlog, sprints, tasks, and Agile workflows. Certifications give you knowledge, but real experience comes from using it. Good luck on your PM journey : )
