I am currently preparing for the PMI-CPMAI exam and came across a question that i am not completely confident about. I would appreciate some input from anyone who has taken the exam or is familiar with this topic.

Question:

A team needs to identify which parts of the project they are working on will require AI and which

will not. In addition, they need to determine technology and data requirements.

Which method should be used?

Options:

A- Detailed data mapping

B- Technical feasibility assessment

C- Components-based analysis

I am trying to understand not only the correct answer but also the reasoning behind it. If anyone has experience with the PMI-CPMAI exam or can explain the logic behind this question, I'd really appreciate your insights

John, in my opinion, the most correct answer is C which is components-based analysis because it breaks the project into individual components to determine which functions require AI and which can be handled with traditional software or other means. This analysis also helps define the technology, infrastructure, and data needed for each AI component, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of the project's AI and non-AI requirements before implementation.

Detailed data mapping doesn't help determine which parts of the project should use AI versus traditional software. It assumes you've already decided AI is needed and addresses the data aspect only.

Technical Feasibility Assessment is generally done after you've identified the AI use cases. It helps determine whether the proposed AI solution is practical so it doesn't primarily identify which components should be AI and which should not.

Hope this helps!
