Let's kick things off with a quick introduction and a little bit of fun.

First, reply to this thread to introduce yourself by sharing: your name, school, and PMI chapter.

Then, let's add a little fun ๐ŸŽ’ As part of your introduction, imagine you're heading out on a project management trip. Tell us: One thing you WOULD bring and one thing you would NOT bring.

Get creative, be serious, be silly, or share an answer that is somewhere in between! We encourage all students to write and share posts in the language of their choice.

Here are a few examples to get you started:

  • I would bring snacks! I can't work on a project if I'm hungry. I would NOT bring a hot air balloon. It is likely not going to be an efficient mode of transportation for the team.

  • I would bring a notebook and pencil to keep track of notes and deadlines. I would NOT bring a disco ball (it's great for the vibes but hard to fit in a bag!)

Vote for your favorites! Browse other introductions and vote for the responses you like best. The post with the most votes by the first of October will win a PMI prize! ๐Ÿ†

Welcome to the Student Club Hub! We can't wait to see what you'd pack (and what you definitely wouldn't).

Arjun Chris Petapermal Sr Project Manager - Digital Transformation| Gilead Sciences Plano, TX, United States
Hi everyone! Iโ€™m Arjun ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™m a Senior Project Manager working in digital transformation for a pharma company, while also pursuing my Doctor of Business Administration at Westcliff University. I serve as a PMI Student Ambassador for North America and am excited to help kick off the Student Club Hub and meet everyone here!

๐ŸŽ’ One thing I WOULD bring: A pack of markers. Give me a messy problem, and with enough markers (board/wall space granted), weโ€™ll figure something out.

๐Ÿšซ One thing I would NOT bring: My alarm-clock. Morning are now officially out of scope for this trip! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is bringing (and what youโ€™re leaving behind)!

Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Iโ€™m Precious Isafiade, an MHA student at Dalhousie University, based in Alberta, and newly certified PMPยฎ. Iโ€™m excited to connect with the PMI student community, learn from others, and keep building my project leadership journey.

If I were heading out on a project management trip, Iโ€™d bring my noise-cancelling headphones for a little peace and focus. What I would NOT bring? Unnecessary drama; itโ€™s definitely not in the project scope! ๐Ÿ˜„

Happy to see the Student Hub come to life! I'm a former Director of Professional Development and Chief Governance Officer for the San Francisco Bay Area chapter.

On a Project journey, I would bring my sense of humor, empathy, a collaborative mindset, and future focus.

I would not bring any albatrosses, such as impatience, overthinking or narrow thinking. And I would definitely ban that jerk, Scope Creep!

I'm looking forward to hearing what others would bring!

Derek Morrill Project Engineer/Student| Poole & Kent Corporation Washington, D.C/ Mid-Atlantic, United States
Hi everyone, I'm Derek Morrill, a Construction Management student at Rowan University, with a minor in Business Administration, and a member of the PMI Washington, D.C. Chapter (PMIWDC).

After 15 years in the field as a Master Plumber and HVAC mechanic building data centers, federal facilities, and airports around the D.C. area, I'm officially making the jump to the project management side of the table this month. The plan doesn't stop there, I'm considering pursuing an MBA after graduation to round out the business side of construction. Excited to connect with other students, especially anyone else coming from the trades.

For the trip: I WOULD bring my torpedo level. Old field habit, I like knowing things are plumb, level, and on track before we move forward. I would NOT bring my pipe wrenches. I'm leaving the tools behind for a little while... though it took two decades to convince myself to put them down. ๐Ÿ”ง

Looking forward to reading everyone's introductions!

James Carder United States
Hi everyone! My name is James Carder. Iโ€™m excited to be part of the PMI Student Club and connect with other students interested in project management.
For my project management trip, I WOULD bring a notebook and a good pair of headphones. The notebook would help me keep track of ideas, tasks, and deadlines, while the headphones would be useful when I need to focus.
I would NOT bring a giant whiteboard! It might be useful for planning, but carrying one around on a trip would definitely make things more complicated than necessary. ๐Ÿ˜„
Looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing what you would bring!
