Managing stakeholders without a contract

After presenting an IT proposal for an application maintenance and evolution service/project, key stakeholders from the potential client contact you asking technical questions that should be part of the project''s scope. The contract is not signed yet, but you want to give a good impression in order to sign a contract in the future. How do you handle these client´s requests before the contract has been signed.
