Yes - I found many questions related to older versions of the Guide. Even some of the new ones were wrong - but only a few.

The intent of my original comment was not destructive, on the contrary, I use the PMChallenge daily and suggest it among my students.

Posting wrong questions or outdated questions could help to keep this official site current, so I'm afraid Mounir ajam is right. M ajam, if you may you can share your findings as well, we can all learn from them.

Great work for those who gathered this set of PMchallenge questions, I particularly like the fact that in most questions you can find a direct textual reference in the PMBok. That's the way I found the errors. I think creators are happy to see some of us are really taking advantage of this tools.

PMChallenge questions are meant to keep you thinking. Looks like it's working!

I agree with Stephane here.

Although I agree in the principle that Stephane and Rami said - i do not agree with the practice. People who have experience - especially with older edition can see the differences. However, many consider this an official PMI website and if they use it to study for PMI certifications, it is likely to consider everything here as official and current. So if this practice is to continue - the site should put a disclaimer in the PM Challenge section - in large bold letters clarifying this matter.

I do fully agree here with Mounir

and i want to add (as usual at this topic; sorry Stephane ;) ) that i would recommend NOT to use the PM Challange questions for PMP Exam preparations, since the type of questions and even more of the answers are often untypical or even wrong in the sense of PMP sample questions.

I guess the original intention of the PM Challenge was just ot provide a fun opportunity to refelct pm knowledge and it is a great fun tool therefore, but not for PMP preparation.
The fact that there is outdated material included (what should be overworked as soon as possible) just do underline that.

Regards,

Markus

Now I have to disagree with you a little bit Markus :-)

I solved 1000 questions and found only 1 question with a suspicious or let us say possible wrong answer. Those questions are straight forward and helps you review what you've went through in the PMBOK. They are far away from the real exam questions but I personally found them useful as a review material.

Hello Rami,

well, we are allowed to disagree each other sometimes, i guess ... ;)

But i will still insist here; had nearly the exact same discussion some times before with Stephane ...;)

First what i do agree about: Yes, this PM CHallenge Questions are great; fun tool and really good for reflecting and reviewing knowledge.
And like Kristin added, it is not only about PMBoK Guide and PMI's pm school, but also others, what is great also and highly appriciated.

And now comes the bit BUT here from my perspective (and it is just my personal opinion, but it is based on some experience):
Now and than somebody stated that PM Challenge here on pm.com was a good tool for PMP exam prapration in the sense of sample questions/mock exams! And that is what i definitly disagree about.
Furthermore it could be even counterproductive if some PMP aspirant relys on this statement. So why do i think so?
Well, not only because there is some other stuff than PMBoK Guide involved and not only cause there is some outdated and may be even wrong material included.
THe biggest issue i do have is, that the type of questions and even more the type of answering options is really often (not always!) untypically regarding the PMP exam.
For instance:
You will NEVER see an answering option like "all of the above" or "non of the above" in the PMP exam, but they are often used within PM Challenge (what is not really bad, but it is just not like the PMNP exam).

Another point is, that - like you stated - almost all of the questions are pretty straight forward, what is great for doing some of them here and there.
But most of the exam questions are situational and long textet ... see what i mean?

I do not say: don't use it!
What i want to say: don't use it for PMP exam preparation.

There are some really good and professional PMP exam simulators available out there which gave you the option to really simulate the exam situation. Please rely on them for PMP exam preparation purposes!

Just my 2 cents ...
;)

Hello all! Thank you for your comments. Please note that we are actively updating questions to reflect the newest version of the PMBOK Guide. Also, the questions found in PM Challenge are inclusive of other project management schools of thought beyond the PMBOK Guide.
