PMI Audited?

If you failed an audit process and re-send your NEW application, does it mean that will are automatically subjected to audit again?

I recently acquired my PMI-ACP and was not selected for audit Based on my experience, there is no correlation to a prior application, in my case the PMP and as a result, its random.

I know someone who failed an audit. I don't recall the exact reason, but it had something to do with her job title. The rejection letter stated that she could reapply, but that any future applications would be subject to automatic audit.

This is a tough situation. PMI needs to maintain the integrity of their certifications, but the audit process is grueling. I don't know what the average is, but I had to track down project team members over the span of 6 years. If I knew in advance that I had to do that again, I probably wouldn't bother applying.

Yes, I believe that's true if you're applying for the same certification. I don't know that to be true if you had been audited on a prior certification and you're now applying for a different one.

George, I didn't fail an audit but i would think it is a good thing to be audited if you submitted the application again, that way everyone is on the same page that you are qualified to take the exam. I would rather be audited twice than wait for years to be randomly selected for an audit. My advise would be not to worry about an automatic audit, find out why you failed the first audit and ensure you have compelling eveidence so that they have no question this time around. The audit is not a gotcha from what i have read, it's more of getting people who are qualified so that they not only pass but retain the integrity of the certification. Good luck!
