I never scored better than 74% on a mock exam but I still passed. I suspect the passing score is considerably lower than most people think it is.
I´m with Roger, I've never scored better than 7something %.
I've realize that people is more worry about the score than really understand and improve. Saving Changes...

With the passing score of 61 - it would be best to consistently take mock exams to get at least 10 point higher each time. So the aim would be to score 75 and up on practice exams

The level of difficulty varies in the mock tests. So one cannot conclude whether it should be 70 % or 80% and so on and so forth. I have taken many mock tests. My score varied from 70% to 90% and I cleared my PMP in first attempt
