I have a large, complicated project coming up and want to do as much as possible in terms of planning my knowledge area plans. Does anyone know where to find either templates or checklists for the knowledge area plans? It would be nice to have something to compare to so that I don't miss anything. Everything I've found thus far seems oriented towards taking the exam.

Eugene, are you looking for plan for each project management area for your new project ?

If thats the case, I would suggest not to take that path as every project is different and might need different approach. instead I would suggest to first try and collect as much as possible primary information on the project with stakeholders list. This will itself give you fair idea as to where to start. You will see surely some impediments head start in the project and eventually you will able to link the threads among the various knowledge areas.

Further I would suggest :
1) Plan a meeting with the stakeholders
2) draw a rough plot of project activities (from detailed requirements)
3) Link the knowledge areas so you can see much clear picture of the project
4) Then plan individually for the project phases

Thank you Saurabh and Markus. I just want to be careful to not miss something obvious. As I continue to review the SOW, I've been using OneNote to jot down ideas under each Knowledge Area. Scope is probably my biggest concern. There are several clauses I took acception to as I felt they were too ambiguous.

I think they have a feasibility study and checklist which is superb. The feasibility template can guide you better so You don't miss any components of the WBS, Risk Assessments, and then the SOW will be more complete. If your project already has a Charter in your company's OPA KB, I would find the link for the SOW. That should have already been partially done.
