What are other job titles for Project Managers?

The HR department here won't give someone a title with "Manager" in it until they have been a supervisor or specialist etc...

I was thinking of Project Specialist or Project Leader (I don't really like Project Leader).
Or replace the word "project" with the product line the person works on???

Production Manager could be a suitable title but I do not think anything could replace the title of Project Manager. You could be acting PM though.

Project Leader makes sense. Can you ask HR for guidance?

At one company, Project Leader was reserved for junior PMs. Ironic because, in my humble opinion, it is more difficult to lead than to manage. I have also seen Project Coordinator being used. PMI's junior exam is CAPM (Associate Project Manager) or Project Manager Associate.

I just recently got my PMP certification. I feel like it's time for my title to catch-up to what I do. I'm PM'ing full time with little to no "chemist" functions. I maybe greedy but I feel like an "associate" title would be a step down.

And I saw the same thing where leader was entry level and manager was higher at another company. I agree leading is harder! We have no one at my company with the project manager title of something similar. We did have a few "Special Projects" titles.

I like it. I will suggest project manager and project supervisor as a backup!

I had the same problem at a former company. We went with Project Specialist and Project Coordinator, although I felt both were lacking considering the level of responsibility you take on as a project manager.

In our organization we have Project Leaders. My title is Project Portfolio Manager, and I supervise the Project Leaders. My organization also has a special classification of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, but those roles tend to be filled by contractors.
