Hello,

My PMP Certification Application is being audited and I'm looking for advice on completing a portion of it. I have had a single manager/sponsor thus far and will need to have him sign off on quite a few projects to claim my hours. I read that I may be able to get his sign off on a single project validation form and just have him initial each remaining project-down the list of the others I claimed but I thought I would ask around for what others have done and what has been accepted previously?

I appreciate your time and input!!

To post the response from PMI Support - in case any one comes across this looking for an answer too, below is what I was sent back:

"Yes, your verifier can fill one form out completely and then just initial the rest of the forms on the signature line.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected]."

Thank you again everyone!

I would have them verify each and sign each document. The signature verifies the information for each project is correct. By having one signature for a list of projects seems like it bypasses the validation process due to them only looking at one document and signing that one as opposed to looking at all of them and validating them separately. Sure, we are all supposed to be honest and ethical here, but it is common for humans to take short cuts just because it is more convenient to do so.

Can I get signed by my Colleague/Supervisor ? as most of the projects we worked together and he has intimate knowledge on most of my recent projects which I'm claiming for PMP certification

Supervisor should be OK, Santhosh. I would recommend not to use a colleague.

Thanks Stephane.

So is it okay if contact name mentioned in submitted form and audit reviewer are different ?
Would it be fine if i get signature from my supervisor who has been workrd with me for all my projects though the given contact name/managers are different.?

This really way beyond what I can reasonably advise about, Santhosh. You would be better served by asking PMI those questions.

It is best if you ask PMI themselves.

I agree with Stephane's mention.
The PMI team was great to work with too when I had questions.

I've never been audited (yet), before my PMP test application I sent an email to all my managers (some here others overseas), saying..." hey I'm going to apply to the PMP Test, I will post XX hours in those projects that were lead by your PMO Office or in your Account...will you approve it in case of audit?"

Their support of them was amazing! Also, some of them also included some small project that I led and completely forgot.

I encourage to the members that are going to apply for any kind of certification to do it, like this if they will be audited, the answer and conversation with the managers will be smooth.

Anyway, Stephanie, good luck with the audit and keep us posted.

It was approved in the end! I was super nervous about the audit but it all went well.

Thank you!
