My question is from everyone who has studied the PMBOK and have found something good out of it even if he works in Project Mangaement related field or not.

Is PMBOK something for the project managers only or it can be used for a larger audience?

Maria, agree that the occasional user will be overwhelmed by the sheer size and formal language of PMBoK Guide. But there are many books relying on PMBoK guide which help them concentrate on the things they need, and which probably use PMBoK terminology and concepts. A good example are the PMIEF materials for teaching PM at schools.
@Thomas W. PMIEF has amazing resources, I've discovered it few months ago, in a discussion post. How amazing is this community.

Yes, of course! My case is an example of this: my job is based in routine activities and not project, so I repeat the activities monthly ( even daily in some of them). But even so I use some tools and techniques described in the PMBOK as brainstorming, stakeholder matrix, risk register, meeting rules, etc.

Remember PMBOK is not a metodologia but a set of good practices, so it's totally flexible to be used for non projects reasons.

There are useful ideas in the PMBoK for everyone, but the PMBoK is a terrible way to learn them. So I'd say no. Reading the PMBoK to learn about project management is like reading a law book to learn how to drive.

Andy, I agree, PMBoK is a guide and standard, not a learning aide. If you want to learn about project management, you need additional resources.
The value to the wider audience is not that it is an easy read, but that it sets standards (e.g. 'what is scope and how to manage it') and it shows the good practices that are used most of the time and in most projects. So, in contrast to your conclusion, I think it is a good source for the wider audience.

PMBOK is for anyone, it could be usefull for your life project!

There is no recipe to be found but a lot of ideas, concepts, techniques that you can get there and apply to you daily life.
