Do you think Project & Project Management all the time? A PM’s job is stressful; how do you balance the personal life? Are you able to get enough time to rest, and spend some quality time with your near & dear ones? What activities you involve in your leisure, apart from reading & learning, social networking & partying? What do you do for stress-busting? Saving Changes...
To deal with I try "sharpen the saw" by improving my health (running & practice Pilates, good feeding), by leisure (reading, listening to music, watching movies and series) and most of all, enjoying my family.
I strongly recommend Mr. Covey´s book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People". In fact I´m reading this book nowadays, and I´m loving his message.

Anupam, yes, I think PM all the time because it is a way to live your life in peace and love what you do.
If we look into PMI's talent triangle, Leadership competencies are necessary to be or to become a good project manager. One of the core methods to develop PM leadership is emotional intelligence, with it's 4 components. The first two components are dealing with yourself, they are self awareness and self regulation - and these two are also determining if you feel stress or are relaxed. Any stress comes from your personal perception of and reaction on triggers (stressors). Being able to understand your triggers and control your reaction on them means you reached a good level of self awareness and self regulation.
It's as easy as this. Just needs a basic understanding and some training and probably a mentor will help speed it up.
Like everything in project management.

Certainly, the project, the project calendar, and resources can drive stress levels high. Thinking of my most stressful and demanding project, I would suggest:
-Short day trips: Get away from your work/home, see some sights and new people with a small time investment
-Pet adoption and activities with your pet(s)
-You mentioned reading - reading on topics of interest to you (history or science or fiction, for example); however, I also like to find books that are relevant to my PM work in some way, but interesting to me as well.
